According to the press service of the State Security Service, the spread of a large amount of narcotic substances has been prevented. A special operation was carried out by officers of the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies.
During the operation, with the participation of impartial witnesses, a hiding place containing 10 packages of the drug "opium" was discovered. In total, 4 kg 956 grams of narcotics were identified and confiscated.
It was revealed that the narcotics had been previously hidden by a drug courier for another member of the distribution chain. The incident took place near the Tashkent ring road passing through the Zangiota district of Tashkent region.
Based on this case, a criminal case has been initiated under part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on "Illegal manufacturing, acquisition, storage or similar actions, as well as sale of narcotic substances, their analogs, or psychotropic substances." Currently, an investigation is underway, and those individuals involved in the illegal circulation of narcotics are being identified.
They may face up to 20 years of imprisonment. The agency has reported that this narcotic substance was smuggled into the territory of the country.
