It was reminded that hiding mortgaged property in Jizzakh can lead to criminal liability

The press service of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau of the Jizzakh Regional Administration has provided information. It was noted that an enforcement document regarding the transfer of a "Lacetti" vehicle to the benefit of a bank had been received by the bureau from a citizen.

The car was pledged as collateral during the process of obtaining a loan. During enforcement actions, the debtor tried to evade fulfilling his obligations and hid the vehicle.

For this reason, the car was put on the wanted list, and administrative liability measures were applied to the debtor for not surrendering the collateral property. It was also explained to the debtor that if he continued such actions, he could be held liable under Article 233 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Illegal possession of pledged or confiscated property).

This article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment for unlawfully managing, including embezzling, squandering, hiding, destroying, or damaging property. After these measures, the debtor voluntarily surrendered the vehicle.

It is currently kept at a penalty parking lot. In the coming days, the vehicle will be sold through an electronic online auction and the proceeds will be directed to pay off the debt.
