In Tashkent, a young man who was rejected in love committed an offense out of frustration, the city’s Department of Internal Affairs reported.
According to the information, 29-year-old R.M., after his beloved refused a marriage proposal, became upset and noticed a parked Lacetti car on the street. The doors were unlocked, and the key was still in the ignition. Acting on impulse, he got behind the wheel and drove off, saying he wanted to “let out his anger at life.”
Later, the young man regretted his actions and left the car on the roadside. The vehicle was returned to its owner unharmed.
The Bektemir District Court found R.M. guilty under Part 1, Article 267 of the Criminal Code — “Vehicle theft.” Taking into account his sincere remorse and the fact that the car was returned undamaged, he was sentenced to four years in prison.
Authorities and law enforcement agencies advised young people “to make decisions with reason, not emotions.”
