About 20 thousand passengers who did not pay for travel on buses in Tashkent were fined. This was reported by the press service of the Transport Control Inspection.
It was revealed that 19,632 violations were identified during the first 11 months of 2025. As a result of the protocols drawn up against the passengers, fines were imposed in the amount of 10% of the BRV - 41,200 soums.
Raids have been intensified to guarantee payment for travel on the capital's public transport. Now, employees of the State Institution for Monitoring and Control of Passenger Transportation in Tashkent are also granted the right to issue fines against passengers who have not paid the fare.
It was also decided to stop accepting cash payments on buses in Tashkent from January 1, 2025. If a passenger offers to pay in cash, the driver is obliged not to accept it. Regional inspectors of the Transport Inspectorate will constantly monitor the situation. If a warning is issued for the first time, and if it is repeated, an administrative report is drawn up against both the driver and the passenger.
The administrative report is drawn up in accordance with Article 144 (traveling without a ticket) and Article 145 (traveling without a ticket) of the Code of Administrative Offenses. As a result of the administrative report, a fine of 41,200 soums will be imposed.
The joint-stock company "Toshshahartransxizmat" has installed surveillance cameras on all buses. This allows for prepayment of tickets and the identification of passengers who have not paid for travel.
From January 1, 2025, a maximum fare of 3,000 soums per passenger on the capital's public transport (bus and metro) has been established. When paying through the electronic payment system (transport or bank card), the fare will be 1,700 soums.
