According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a man born in 1974 suspected of fraud was detained in Nukus. This was reported by upl.uzreports.
A Nukus resident born in 1984 contacted law enforcement, stating that he had given an acquaintance various jewelry items worth a total of 938 million soums, but had not received payment for them.
After that, the suspect promised the woman to “resolve” the issue and speed up the return of the money through an “acquaintance investigator” in the internal affairs bodies, and asked for 200 million soums in return.
During оперативные measures, the man was detained while receiving the money, which had been pre-treated with a special chemical substance. A criminal case was opened under Part 3 of the Criminal Code article “Fraud”. He faces up to 8 years in prison.
