Large-scale smuggling drug network uncovered in Fergana

During operational activities conducted by employees of the State Security Service (SSS) Department for the Fergana region in cooperation with customs and internal affairs bodies, a number of cases related to the circulation of drugs illegally imported from Tajikistan were identified. It is noted that during the operations, large batches of "opium" and "hashish" smuggled into Kokand and other regions of the region were seized.
First of all, the apartment of a citizen, born in 1984, who was engaged in the sale of smuggled drugs from Tajikistan, was inspected in the city of Kokand. As a result of the inspection, 4 kg 572 grams of "opium" and 1 kg 58 grams of "hashish" were found in the kitchen of the apartment.
Also, during the pre-investigation actions, based on the geolocation data sent to him by Tajik drug dealers via WhatsApp, 9 kg 980 grams of "opium" substance, which was previously hidden in the Dangara district, was found and seized.
During the events, another serious case was revealed: a resident of the city of Kokand, born in 1969, established a narcotics laboratory for processing and preparing drugs for consumption. 7 kg 226 grams of "opium" substance was also taken from his residence.
In addition, when a Lacetti car driven by a local citizen born in 1980 was stopped and inspected in the territory of the city of Kokand, it was found that it contained 5 kg 22 grams of opium, which was previously purchased for 34 thousand US dollars.
The operation was continued, and a citizen of the same city, born in 1985, who sold this drug, and his accomplice, a citizen of Tajikistan, born in 1985, were detained. During additional investigations, 2 kg 362 grams of "opium" were also seized from the apartment of a Tajik citizen in the Uzbekistan district.
In another case recorded in the city of Kokand, a Nexia car was stopped and inspected with the participation of witnesses. During the inspection, it was revealed that there were 982 grams of "hashish" in the bag belonging to a citizen born in 1992, who was traveling as a passenger. According to preliminary information, he obtained the drugs from a secret place, which had been previously hidden by Tajik drug couriers.
At a special operational event held in Fergana, another attempted sale was also stopped: a person born in 2000 was caught red-handed while selling 989 grams of "hashish" imported from Tajikistan to a buyer for 150 million soums.
As a result of the swift actions taken, approximately 29 kg of 162 grams of opium and 3 kg of 29 grams of hashish were seized from circulation.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against the offenders under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of "imprisonment" has been applied. The investigation is ongoing.
Such rapid measures demonstrate one thing: the strengthening of control in the fight against drug addiction and the gradual exposure of networks that pose a threat to public safety are becoming increasingly important.
