A bus burned to ashes at Bus Station No. 5 in Tashkent

Videos showing a bus fire at the territory of the “5th Bus Depot” branch in Tashkent quickly spread on social networks. The incident attracted public attention and raised various questions.
According to the press service of “Toshshahartransxizmat” JSC, the fire occurred on January 13 at around 02:03 a.m. in a MAN A22 CNG bus manufactured in 2018. The duty dispatchers of the branch noticed the situation and immediately called the emergency number 101 at 02:10 to report the fire.
A fire-fighting unit of the Emergency Situations Department arrived at the depot area at 02:20. Despite prompt actions, the fire was fully extinguished only by 02:40.

According to available information, the bus was assigned to a driver with 10 years of work experience who was operating route No. 101. On January 12 at 04:16, the bus was inspected by duty mechanics and was found to be in technically sound condition. After that, the vehicle left the depot at 05:33, completed all its trips during the day, and finished operation at around 22:00.
Later, the driver went to the gas filling station of “Davron sifatli gaz” LLC and refueled the bus. At 23:29, he returned to the depot and parked the bus in line with the doors closed.
So far, no official conclusion has been issued regarding the exact cause of the fire. However, this nighttime incident has once again brought the issues of technical inspection and safety in bus depots to the forefront.
