Major smuggling operation uncovered at border, investigation ongoing

During operational and preventive measures carried out by the Border Troops of the State Security Service to ensure the security of the state border and strengthen its inviolability, a major illegal incident was detected.
Specifically, four polyethylene bags left by unknown persons were found on the bank of the Syr Darya river in the territory of the "Shodiqoziq" neighborhood of Beshariq district, Fergana region. Based on the suspicious circumstances, the bags were promptly taken under control.
During an inspection conducted with the participation of witnesses, it was determined that these bags contained a large quantity of narcotic substances and medications. Specifically, 47 kg 113 g of "hashish" in 48 wraps, 7 kg 779 g of "opium" in 15 wraps, as well as 10,710 units of "Lidaza" and 756 units of "Tenoxicam" medications illegally imported from a neighboring state were recorded.
All physical evidence was documented and seized in accordance with the established procedural order.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Part 2 of Article 246 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Currently, investigative actions are being continued by law enforcement agencies. Additionally, operational search measures have been intensified to identify the owners of the illegal cargo and the individuals involved in this criminal scheme.
