Law enforcement authorities in the Asaka district of Andijan have arrested a man for allegedly defrauding citizens with false promises of Hajj pilgrimage services. The suspect was apprehended while receiving $9,000, representing half of the $18,000 he demanded from two individuals to arrange their travel. A case involving fraud was uncovered in Asaka district of Andijan region. The suspect was detained as a result of a special operation carried out in cooperation with officers of the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office and other law enforcement agencies.

It was reported that citizen M.Ch. promised to send two people — A.I. and B.X. — on a Hajj pilgrimage and demanded $18,000 for the service. He was caught with material evidence while receiving half of the agreed amount — $9,000.

A criminal case has been opened by the investigative authorities under Article 168 of the Criminal Code, namely fraud. At present, all the circumstances are being examined in detail and additional investigative actions are under way.
