It was reported that citizen M.Ch. promised to send two people — A.I. and B.X. — on a Hajj pilgrimage and demanded $18,000 for the service. He was caught with material evidence while receiving half of the agreed amount — $9,000.
A criminal case has been opened by the investigative authorities under Article 168 of the Criminal Code, namely fraud. At present, all the circumstances are being examined in detail and additional investigative actions are under way.
Such cases call on citizens to be vigilant: when it comes to religious trips and other services, it is important to act only through official and reliable sources.
In short, easy paths and sweet promises can hide big problems. In any agreement, vigilance is the best protection.
