Nodirbek Yakubboev (2659), who participated in the "Challenger" group, spent the final part of the tournament in high spirits. He managed to win three games in a row. If the tournament had started like this, Yakubboev would have finished the tournament among the clear winners. Nodirbek defeated Chinese female chess player Lu Miaoyi in the last 13th round with the black pieces. Yakubbayev finished 4th in the additional indicators with 8 points.

Czech Van Nguyen and Azerbaijani Aydin Suleimanli finally scored 9.5 points each. Nguyen won the tie-break and became the champion of the Challenger group. Dutchman Erwin Lamy, who scored half a point more than Yakubbayev, completed the top three with 8.5 points.
