Bahadir Kurbanov: "We will start with the digitalization of football"

A while ago, at the extraordinary election congress of the UFA, a new president was elected to the organization. According to him, the head of the State Security Service, Bakhodir Nizomovich Kurbanov, took office as the UFA president.

"I would like to thank the delegates for considering my candidacy for the presidency of the UFA. As everyone knows, football is a popular and favorite sport in Uzbekistan. Our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed many important documents aimed at developing football in our country and bringing it to a new level. This, in turn, has given impetus to significant growth in our football in recent years. A number of projects are being implemented in cooperation with FIFA and the AFC to improve our football infrastructure and create opportunities for playing football. Our youth and youth national teams are recording brilliant victories on the international stage.

Last year, for the first time in the history of our football, our U-23 national team participated in the Summer Olympic Games, our U-20 national team was recognized as unrivaled in Asia. Our youth national team took part in the top eight at the World Cup. Today, Uzbekistan is recognized as the host of the most prestigious football tournaments. In turn, my task in my new position is to continue this development and use all opportunities to achieve even greater results.

I hope that everyone working in the football field will responsibly approach their duties in order to justify the trust placed in them by the head of our state and achieve the results expected by the fans. Dear participants of the congress, as president, I say from today that I need the knowledge, skills, and assistance of each of you. I believe that together we will fulfill this responsible task. We have big goals ahead of us. Our national team will soon participate in the decisive matches of the World Cup qualifying round. Participation in the World Cup is the eternal dream of our people.

There are big tasks ahead of us in terms of gaining the trust of fans, filling stadiums with fans, and ensuring honesty and transparency in football. I think that football experts, mass media will work together and achieve our goal. Our first steps are digitalization of football. Digitization allows for transparency, education of young players, scientific observation.
