Abbosbek Fayzullayev: He could be the new star of Galatasaray
Galatasaray, one of the most powerful clubs in Turkey, is seriously interested in the striker of the Uzbekistan national team and the Russian CSKA club, Abbasbek Fayzullaev. This is reported by international sports publications.

The Turkish club sees Fayzullaev as a replacement for Dries Mertens

According to the famous Russian football analyst, former member of the Russian national team Dmitry Sennikov, Galatasaray wants to bring Abbasbek Fayzullaev to the team as a replacement for the experienced Belgian player Dries Mertens. The main reason for this is the similarity in the playing style of the two players.

“Fayzullaev has high technical skills. He is distinguished by his ability to dribble, deceive opponents, make accurate shots, see the field well and create dangerous situations,” says Sennikov.

37-year-old Dries Mertens has scored 5 goals and 18 assists in 42 matches this season. However, his contract expires on June 30, and Galatasaray is planning to sign a young and talented player Fayzullaev in his place.

New tactics at CSKA affect the player’s game

After the winter break, CSKA head coach Marko Nikolic changed the team’s playing style, which seriously affected Fayzullaev’s game.

Under the new scheme, he was moved from his usual winger position to the center. This limits his ability to organize attacks and requires a lot of effort. That is why Fayzullaev does not play the full game in some of CSKA’s matches.

Fayzullaev's brilliant performance for the national team has surprised Galatasaray

Abbosbek Fayzullaev has done an excellent job as a winger for the Uzbekistan national team. He performed effectively in the matches against Kyrgyzstan and Iran:
  • He provided a useful assist in the match against Kyrgyzstan,
  • He scored a goal with a wonderful free kick in the match against Iran.

These matches have prompted the Galatasaray management to pay serious attention to Fayzullaev. Because he can play as a central midfielder, left winger and forward - just like Dries Mertens.

Will Fayzullaev go to Turkey?

So far, Galatasaray has not made an official offer for Fayzullaev, but the Turkish club is very keen to add him to its squad. If the negotiations are successful, the Uzbek player will have the opportunity to play for one of the strongest clubs in Europe.

The transfer issue may be finalized in the coming weeks. If the deal goes through, Fayzullaev will become the first Uzbek player in the history of Galatasaray.
