Shomurodov sparks Roma’s revival — Can they reach the Champions League?
The Italian Serie A is heating up — and Roma are right in the middle of the action.

Led by 73-year-old Claudio Ranieri, the capital club has transformed into a real contender for a Champions League spot.

And at the heart of this turnaround? Eldor Shomurodov.

“Eldor is a team-first player”
Speaking to journalists, Ranieri praised both Eldor Shomurodov and Artem Dovbyk.

“They’re hardworking. Eldor is a natural second striker, not selfish. But sometimes I ask him to shoot more,” he said.

Ranieri explained that starting both players at once limits tactical flexibility. “I like to keep options open during the game,” he added.

From almost quitting to leading the charge
Ranieri admits that just a week into his Roma return, he considered leaving.

“But the team gave me everything. I stayed — and now we’re here,” he said.

This turnaround is something José Mourinho, Daniele De Rossi, and Ivan Jurić couldn’t achieve. But Ranieri might.

Shomurodov: From forgotten man to key player
When Eldor was signed from Genoa, he was meant to be part of Mourinho’s grand plan. But over time, minutes dried up.

Twice this season, he was close to leaving Roma.

Now? He’s one of their most important players — right when it matters most.

Roma has just extended his contract until the summer of 2027.

Do you believe Eldor and Roma will make it to the Champions League next season?
