Uzbekistan finishes 2nd at Asian Championship

Uzbekistan’s junior athletes made history at the Asian Athletics Championship for athletes under 18, the National Olympic Committee reported.

The competition was held in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Team Uzbekistan claimed 3 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze medals — finishing second in the overall team standings for the first time ever.

On the final day, the following results were recorded:
• Gold: Jahongir Juraboyev — decathlon;
• Silver: Timur Nasimov — 3000m run;
• Bronze: Ruslan Sadullayev — javelin throw, Asilbek Tukhtamurodov — 3000m run.
