Ilkay Gundogan on Rudiger: "He has a provocative attitude..."
Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan called Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger's actions on the field provocative.

As is known, Antonio Rudiger was sent off in the second half of the Spanish Cup final against Barcelona (2:3).

When referee Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea stopped Real Madrid's attack and awarded a penalty for Kylian Mbappe's rough tackle on Barcelona defender Eric Garcia, Rudiger, who was sitting on the bench at that time, could not control his emotions. He was banned for 6 games for throwing a piece of ice at the referee.

Gundogan explained the incident as follows:

"If Rudiger is in your team, you see his actions as very good and aggressive. But if he is your opponent, you are angry with his actions.

I think the suspension he received was a sufficient punishment and it will be a big lesson for him. Now he will have to go through serious tests.

When you have a strong and aggressive player like Rudiger in the squad, his energy can be used well on the pitch. I felt this in my own experience when I played with him in the German national team. He is such a player, his presence is beneficial for the team, and it is very pleasant for the fans.

But sometimes one thing cannot be without the other. There is a bit of aggression and provocative approach in Rudiger's actions, this is his individual style on the pitch. Antonio is often very emotional. "Unfortunately, in the Cup final, he could not control his emotions and went too far. I think his action was a big mistake," Gundogan told Bild.

It should be noted that Ilkay Gundogan played alongside Rudiger in the German national team and also played against him at club level for Barcelona.
