
The Asian Weightlifting Championships in China continue with victories for the Uzbek national team. The championship's competitions in the men's -109 kg weight category were especially memorable for the high-level performances of Uzbek athletes.
The famous athlete, Olympic champion and medalist Akbar Juraev once again demonstrated his high skills, leaving all his rivals behind in the competition. He lifted 183 kilograms in the snatch and 223 kilograms in the clean and jerk, and recorded a total result of 406 kilograms in the combined effort. Such high figures allowed Akbar to win in all three disciplines and win three gold medals.
At the same time, another talented Uzbek athlete, Sharofiddin Amriddinov, also successfully participated in this weight category. He recorded a result of 181 kilograms in the snatch, 214 kilograms in the clean and jerk, and 395 kilograms in the snatch, taking second place after Akbar and enriching his account with three silver medals.
These successes of Akbar Juraev and Sharofiddin Amriddinov also benefited the Uzbek national team in the overall team standings. Currently, our national team has 11 medals in total, including 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals, and occupies an honorable third place in the overall team standings.
