English football legend Jamie Vardy, 38, has said he is not ready to retire from football. The experienced striker, who rose to fame with Leicester, can still surprise his fans.
“Football is an unpredictable world. No one knows what will happen tomorrow. I will be on the move until my legs tell me to ‘be patient’. So far, everything is fine,” said Vardy.
A great journey for the Foxes
Jamie Vardy has made 35 appearances for Leicester this season, contributing nine goals and four assists. At the end of April, he announced his departure from Leicester.
Vardy, who was signed from Fleetwood Town in the fifth division in 2012 for a fee of just £1 million, has become a true legend with Leicester. With the team, he won major trophies such as:
- Premier League championship (2015/16),
- FA Cup,
- FA Super Cup,
- Championship (twice).
Vardi is a late-comer, but a great striker
Jamie Vardy made his Premier League debut at the age of 27, but he has already established himself as one of the greatest strikers of all time. He has scored more goals than former Premier League stars Didier Drogba, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, and Luis Suarez.
In total, Vardy has scored 149 goals and provided 71 assists in 499 appearances for Leicester. These figures make him one of the most influential players in the club's history.
“As long as the legs don’t stop, the journey continues”
Vardi has not yet made an official decision about where he will work in the future, but he is not ready to say goodbye to football yet.
