Ticket uncertainty before the UAE–Uzbekistan match raises concern

Within the framework of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the important match between the UAE and Uzbekistan national teams is giving rise to various questions and discussions. As the match day approaches, it’s not indifference among fans that increases, but rather the lack of clear information.

AFC regulations and the UAE association's response

According to available information, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) submitted an official request to purchase tickets equivalent to at least 8 percent of the stadium's capacity, in accordance with Asian Football Confederation (AFC) regulations. However, the Emirati side did not respond for a long time.

Finally, the UAE Football Association gave an official response. According to them, the UFA does not have the right to purchase these tickets. At the same time, it was announced that all tickets will go on general sale next week. This, in turn, leaves the possibility of Uzbek fans entering the allocated sectors uncertain.

There is currently no official information about the number of tickets allocated to fans, the conditions of their sale, or to whom exactly they will be issued.

According to official information, tickets will be sold online via ticketmaster.ae. However, the page dedicated to this match has not yet been activated on the site.

Stadium and fan capacity

The match will be held at the “Al Nahyan” Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The arena has a total capacity of 15,000 spectators. According to AFC regulations, 8 percent of tickets must be allocated to away fans. That means, based on calculations, at least 1200–1300 tickets should be made available to Uzbek fans. However, no specific number or confirmed allocation has been provided so far.

In conclusion, the lack of clarity and delays regarding tickets for one of the key matches on the road to the World Cup are causing concern. Fans not only want to enjoy the football but also need a clear answer regarding their right to support their national team in the stadium. With little time left before the match, timely and transparent information from the organizers is of utmost importance.
