Dramatic victory in the CAFA U-17 Championship: our youth made a super comeback and reached the final

The Uzbek national team finished the group stage of the 2025 CAFA U-17 Championship with a real drama. In the decisive match of Group A, our compatriots played against the Iranian youth team and, having completely changed the situation in the match - after a score of 0:2 - won a decisive victory with a score of 4:2.

The match began in a heated spirit, Tashkent time. In the 13th minute of the match, Iranian player Abbas Rafi opened the scoring. Not long after, in the 18th minute, Mutabar Shamisi scored the second goal for our national team - the score was 0:2. At first glance, it may have seemed that today's game was not ours.

However, the spirit of our youth team was not broken. The timely tactical changes of the head coach and the mental preparation of the players paved the way for a real comeback in the final part of the match.

• In the 75th minute, Ahrorbek Ravshanbekov's cool shot from inside the penalty area reduced the score.
• In the 81st minute, Sukhrob Sadirjanov's powerful long-range shot left the opponent's goalkeeper powerless - 2:2.
• In the 88th minute, Ravshanbekov again stepped up to the plate and scored his second goal, putting our team in the lead for the first time.
• In the 90+2nd minute of the match, a goal scored by Husanboy Atabekov put an end to the game - 4:2!

With this victory, the Uzbek youth team finished the group stage in first place and advanced to the final of the competition. Now, in the final, our compatriots will face the Tajikistan youth team. Fortunately, our youth team is not only showing results in this competition - their playing style, technical skills and mental preparation are being particularly recognized by fans and experts.

It is worth noting that the “CAFA U-17 Championship” is one of the most prestigious youth championships in Central Asia. The matches played in this tournament are not only important for victories, but also for shaping the composition of the future national team.
