As you know, these days the capital of Thailand, Bangkok, is hosting the international boxing tournament "Thailand Open". This prestigious competition, which began on May 24, will last until June 1, and representatives of the Uzbek national team are worthy of participating in it, defending the honor of our country.
Today, the most intense stage of the tournament - the semi-final matches - has started. Several of our boxers have fought decisive battles for medals.
In particular, in the women's -65 kg weight category, our compatriot Navbahor Hamidova entered the ring. She competed with her Chinese opponent Liu Yang in the semi-finals. Although Hamidova used all her abilities to win in a fierce and tense fight for three rounds, in the end, according to the judges' decision, she lost to her opponent on points. Thus, Navbahor Hamidova finished this tournament with a bronze medal.
However, there is also great news that has cheered up our fans: the semi-final fights in the men's -55 kg weight category have also taken place. In this fight, the talented boxer from Uzbekistan Faryozbek Du'smatov entered the ring against his opponent from neighboring Kyrgyzstan Islam Torobayev. Having completely dominated his opponent throughout the fight, our compatriot won by a unanimous score of 5:0 and qualified for the final. Faryozbek will fight for the gold medal in the final.
We also have another promising fight ahead of us: Elyorbek Juraboyev, who is defending the honor of Uzbekistan, will face the talented boxer from India Naman Tanwar. This match is also of great interest to our sports fans.
Thus, in this tournament in Thailand, one of our boxers is in the final, and another is finishing the competition as a bronze medalist. The successful participation of the Uzbekistan national team in the Thailand Open is in the spotlight of all fans. And in the finals, we are eagerly awaiting another victory from Faryozbek Dusmatov.
