Fabio Celestini to Lead CSKA Moscow
One of Russia’s most prominent clubs, CSKA Moscow, has appointed a new head coach. The “Red and Blues” have officially announced the signing of a “2+1” contract with 49-year-old Swiss specialist Fabio Celestini. Starting from the new season, he will lead the team that includes our own legionnaire, Abbosbek Fayzullaev.

The coaching staff is also being significantly refreshed. Celestini will be assisted by Manel Expósito, Javier Noya, Jose Blesa, and physical training specialist Dante Carecchi.

In the 2024/25 season, Fabio Celestini managed Switzerland’s “Basel” and led the team to victory both in the national league and in the Cup. His successful results have further raised his reputation as a coach in European football. Previously, he worked as head coach in other Swiss professional clubs such as “Lausanne,” “Lugano,” and “Sion.”

As a player, Celestini represented the Swiss national team. He also played for top European clubs like “Marseille” (France), “Lausanne” (Switzerland), “Getafe,” and “Levante” (Spain).

Last season, CSKA’s head coach was Serbian specialist Marko Nikolic. He left the team after leading it to victory in the Russian Cup.

Celestini’s appointment marks a new chapter for CSKA. Fans are now eager to see how the team will perform under the new coach. For young talents like Abbosbek Fayzullaev, this is also a new opportunity and a new stage for their professional growth.
