Significant changes are taking place at Saudi Arabia’s renowned club Al-Nassr. The team’s head coach Stefano Pioli has officially stepped down from his position. He is expected to be replaced by experienced Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus.
According to the French publication FootMercato, the club management has already started negotiations with the 70-year-old coach. These reports have also been confirmed by reliable sources close to the club.
Jesus previously managed Al-Hilal until May of this year. Under his leadership, the club played 99 matches, winning 80 of them. Ten games ended in draws, and only nine matches were lost. These results have made him one of the most successful coaches in Saudi football history.
Al-Nassr finished last season in third place in the Saudi Pro League. Despite fighting for top honors with Cristiano Ronaldo leading the team, they lost the championship to Al-Ittihad. Al-Hilal finished second.
Jorge Jesus’ return to Al-Nassr could take the club to a new level. His collaboration with Ronaldo is generating great interest not only tactically but also from a marketing perspective. If the deal is finalized, Al-Nassr could once again become a serious contender for titles. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
