Official news on Abbasbek Fayzullaev’s transfer to a European club
Uzbek football has increasingly gained global recognition in recent years. A clear example is our talented attacking midfielder Abbasbek Fayzullaev. He is now one of the most discussed Uzbek footballers on the European transfer market, not just in Russia.

Abbasbek’s goal is to play in one of Europe’s top leagues. In August 2023, the 21‑year‑old moved from “Pakhtakor” to CSKA Moscow, quickly earning attention with his performances. After debuting in the Russian Premier League and performing well for the national team, his name has been mentioned more frequently among European clubs.

His effective play in the World Cup qualifiers — with crucial passes and goals — has boosted his value and transfer potential. Consequently, interest in him from the European market is growing.

Recent reports suggest that ambitious Turkish side “Başakşehir,” a contender for European competitions, is showing serious interest in both Abbasbek Fayzullaev and “Roma” midfielder Eldor Shomurodov. According to Turkish media, Başakşehir initially offered €7 million for Shomurodov, and after French club Rennes entered the race, the offer increased to €8 million. It’s also said that official inquiries have been sent to CSKA.

However, amid these rumors, Başakşehir’s press officer Gökhan Yılmaz officially told Sport-Express that scouts have no intention of pursuing a transfer for CSKA’s Abbasbek Fayzullaev or Lokomotiv’s Dmitriy Barinov:
“I spoke with our scouts about these transfers. They informed me that at the moment there is no intention of transferring Abbasbek Fayzullaev from CSKA and Dmitriy Barinov from Lokomotiv.”

In the 2024/25 season, Fayzullaev played 39 matches across all competitions for CSKA, scoring 3 goals and providing 8 assists. He helped the Moscow team win bronze in the RPL and the Russian Cup. His contract runs until June 30, 2026. Transfermarkt values him at €8 million.

He continues to be at the center of transfer discussions and interest from top European clubs. Currently, he is on holiday and has not yet rejoined training under the new coach, fueling speculation further.

One thing is clear: his potential move to Europe would mark a significant milestone for both his career and Uzbek football. Each step he takes is a source of pride and hope for millions of fans.
