Bahrom Haydarov: “The team is one step short of a radical transformation”
“Kokand-1912” coach spoke openly about the team’s series of defeats, coaches’ responsibility, and the search for a solution

In the 14th round of the Super League, once again luck turned away from “Kokand-1912” in the match against “Dinamo”. After another 2:3 defeat, the head coach Bahrom Haydarov attended the press conference with a very sincere and critical statement.

— “We started the game well and it resulted in a goal. But after that, carelessness was observed among the players. They allowed a drop in effort and lost our advantage. If we had continued playing with the same attitude as at the start, there is no doubt the result would have been different,” said the coach.

“When the opponent was left with 10 men, we had to take responsibility”

Haydarov specifically noted that in the second half, after the opponent was left with one man less, the team lost its fighting spirit and showed passivity in organizing attacks with the ball.

— “In such a situation, fast and accurate crosses from the wings and individual skill are required. But our players lacked a sense of responsibility and activity. Instead of organizing attacks, they preferred to just hold onto the ball. After that, we conceded the second goal on a counterattack,” he admitted.

Who is responsible for the defeats? The coach does not exclude himself

In response to journalists’ question about the “sixth defeat”, Haydarov answered frankly and emphasized that the coaching staff also does not shy away from responsibility.

— “Of course, it’s not just the players’ fault. Making important decisions is my responsibility. We have had open conversations with the management, and they trust us. We are also fighting for results, but we lack stability,” said the coach.

He said that to get out of this situation, the team must give their maximum effort in the next match, and that transfer and selection work will be carried out in the upcoming window.

“Players can win even without a coach” — a motivational call

At the end of the interview, Haydarov made a special call about the players’ internal motivation and team unity:

— “We, the coaches, work honestly, but after every defeat, we also question ourselves. The players should feel that sometimes you can win even without a coach. Such things happened during my football career. Maybe the team has lost itself, but even if only for one match, it would be good if they themselves fought for the victory.”

Conclusion: a decisive phase begins for a team under pressure

In the words of the “Kokand-1912” coach, there is no search for blame, but a desire to recognize and solve the problem. The last match of the first round will be a serious test for them. The team must restore unity and internal confidence in order to get out of this downturn.
