Partey accused of multiple rape offenses

The criminal investigation service has issued official charges against the midfielder, Euro-football.ru reported.

The Ghanaian footballer recently left Arsenal after his contract expired. According to The Telegraph, Partey faces accusations of five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

Back in July 2022, reports emerged of rape allegations against a Premier League footballer, but the player’s identity was only revealed now. The English football community is criticizing Arsenal for allowing Partey to continue playing despite the serious accusations.

A similar case is that of Manchester City's Ferland Mendy, who was also suspended due to similar allegations, though all charges were later dropped. Thomas Partey is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
