Al-Nassr, the famous Saudi Arabian club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays, has made a major change. The club’s press service announced that experienced Portuguese specialist Jorge Jesus has been officially appointed as the head coach.
It should be reminded that earlier this year, Al-Nassr parted ways with Italian coach Stefano Pioli. After this decision, the club began searching for a new leader, and finally, the choice was made — now the helm is in Jesus’s hands.
Jorge Jesus last worked at Al Hilal. Under his leadership, the team finished second in the Saudi Arabian championship. Interestingly, Al-Nassr completed the season in third place in that same tournament.
Jesus’s return is connected to several reasons. First of all, he knows the Saudi football environment well. Secondly, he is not indifferent to the conditions, fans, and the spirit of the championship there. But the main reason is different: the person who invited him was Cristiano Ronaldo himself.
“I like Saudi Arabia. This country is important not only for football but also for the future. I’m very happy to be back,” said Jesus during his presentation.
The coach gave special attention to Ronaldo in his speech, emphasizing that it was impossible to refuse his offer:
“Cristiano is a player who has brought victory wherever he played. Only Saudi Arabia was left. Let’s see if I can help him achieve victory this time. We speak the same language, which is a great advantage.”
For football fans, this news is undoubtedly interesting. Because both Jesus and Ronaldo are individuals who have defended the honor of Portuguese football and made their mark on the pitch. Now, they will be working in the same team with a common goal — the championship.
It’s still unknown how this new stage at Al-Nassr will unfold and what results the team will achieve with its new head coach. But one thing is certain — both fans and football experts have high hopes for the Portuguese duo. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
