Discussions intensify over the future of Abbosbek Fayzullaev
The future of Uzbekistan national team and CSKA club's talented attacking footballer Abbosbek Fayzullaev remains unclear.

According to some reputable European media outlets and football insiders, the 21-year-old Uzbek player may transfer to Istanbul Başakşehir. It is being speculated that this Turkish club could serve as a stepping stone for Abbosbek to move on to top European leagues.

However, the press service of İstanbul Başakşehir has officially stated that the club management is not currently considering the candidacy of Abbosbek Fayzullaev. Nevertheless, this transfer topic is being actively discussed among Russian football experts and the public.

Interestingly, the experts express differing opinions on this issue.

Evgeny Aldonin, former CSKA midfielder:

Selling Fayzullaev during this summer transfer window could be a profitable option for CSKA. His debut season in Russia was full of bright moments. However, in the following season, he lost his place in the starting lineup and could not perform at the expected level.

Abbosbek is a very talented and promising player. It is important for him to get regular playing time. If a good offer comes and favorable conditions are presented to CSKA, this transfer should be accepted.

It is clear that Fayzullaev is not satisfied with his current role. He is playing very little. Head coach Marko Nikolic changed the tactical scheme, which no longer suits Abbos's playing style, leading to a decline in his performances.

Abbosbek is not a physically strong player. Therefore, he must remain in consistent match shape; otherwise, he struggles in one-on-one situations.

Timur Lepsaya, football official:

If I were part of CSKA's management, I would not sell Abbosbek Fayzullaev now. I would wait until after the World Cup. I would convince him to stay one more season and aim for a more expensive transfer later. The World Cup could significantly increase his market value.

For reference, Abbosbek Fayzullaev, a product of "Pakhtakor", signed with CSKA in August 2023. It's reported that Pakhtakor received 500 thousand euros for the transfer.

Abbosbek quickly made a name for himself in his debut season at CSKA and was recognized as one of the biggest revelations of the Russian Premier League. He also won the award for the Best Young Asian Footballer.

The year 2024 was successful for Fayzullaev — he won a bronze medal in the Russian Championship with CSKA, as well as the national cup and super cup.

During this period, he played in 72 matches across all competitions, scoring 8 goals and making 22 assists.
