The second Uzbek in England: Nodirbek Bobomurodov in a historic club

These days, another joyful event occurred in Uzbek football. This time, the main character is the attacking winger Nodirbek Bobomurodov.

After the only Uzbek central defender, Abduqodir Husonov, started playing in the English Championship, another fellow countryman has officially begun his journey in British football.

According to information published by the British press, 26-year-old Bobomurodov has signed a full official contract with "Cray Wanderers," the oldest football club in London. This club competes in the seventh division of the English Championship and is considered one of the historically significant teams.

"Cray Wanderers" is a club with a 165-year history and is recognized as the first football team in London. By its founding date, it ranks second only to the "Sheffield" club. It is the same age as clubs like "Munich-1860" and "Hallam."

Nodirbek’s introduction to football began in England. Since 2018, he has played for several teams: "Sheppey United," "South Park," "Cheshunt," "Corinthian-Casuals," "Hungerford," "Worthing," "Kingstonian," "Chatham," "Bognor Regis," "Littlehampton," "Three Bridges."

In 2023, he briefly returned to Uzbekistan and played for "Surkhon." However, he couldn’t fully prove himself at this club and returned to England after half a year.

Interestingly, Bobomurodov's most recent team was Afghanistan's "Attack Energy" club. He won a silver medal in the national championship there. But after the club was disbanded, he returned to England and became a player for "Cray Wanderers."

It should be noted that Bobomurodov can perform universal functions in attack. Although he mainly plays on the right wing, he can also play on the left and as a second striker.

Nodirbek's return to England is considered a great success not only for him personally but also for Uzbek football as a whole. He has now become part of a historic club in European football.
