A new page has opened in the career of Uzbekistan’s national team’s talented and attacking footballer Abbosbek Fayzullaev. The 21-year-old legionnaire played worthily in the Russian championship for the last two seasons, having earned his place in European football. Now, he has headed to the rapidly developing Turkish Super League — a championship that in recent years has become famous for attracting a number of stars and experienced coaches.
From now on, Uzbek football fans will follow “Istanbul Basaksehir” matches with special attention. Because along with Abbosbek Fayzullaev, Eldor Shomurodov also joined the team — the activity of these two players in Turkey has aroused great interest.
After the official announcement of Fayzullaev’s new transfer, experts and specialists are expressing their opinions in the Russian media. In particular, former Zenit player Alexey Gasilin says: “Last season Abbos played less often in the main squad and basically became a rotation player. But he was recognized as Asia’s best young footballer — this shows his high potential. Fayzullaev got a very good offer, probably he will have the opportunity to play all 90 minutes on the field. Because he wants to play.”
According to Gasilin, CSKA made good profit from this transfer — they received a good amount for the player, and the club’s commercial strategy was implemented. At the same time, playing regularly in the Turkish championship, Fayzullaev will have the chance to thoroughly prepare for the World Cup.
Another former CSKA player, Evgeny Aldonin, shared this opinion: “Fayzullaev leaving the team is not a big loss at the moment. Because he was losing his place in the starting lineup. We wish Abbos success and good luck in his new club. If we take into account that his contract was expiring, next summer he could have left for free, but today the club received a good amount.”
Notably, according to Transfermarkt, “Istanbul Basaksehir” paid 7.5 million euros for Abbosbek Fayzullaev and the contract was signed for five years. In addition, according to some sources, a bonus of up to 2.5 million euros may be added to the transfer amount, depending on his performance. The player’s salary is set at one million euros per season.
In the new season, what kind of game the Uzbek star will show in “Istanbul Basaksehir”, his activity in the Turkish championship and future victories — all this arouses great anticipation and hope among football fans. For Fayzullaev, this transfer means new opportunities, new heights, and another solid foundation to make his name known on the international stage.
