One of the intense and dynamic matches of Super League round 17 took place between “Navbahor” and “Sogdiana”. In the match held in Namangan, the teams recorded a 1:1 draw. After the match, “Sogdiana” head coach Ivan Bošković participated in a press conference and shared his detailed impressions.
According to the experienced specialist, today’s match was entertaining and meaningful for many fans. He stated that the team moved slowly in certain episodes, but the exact reason for this is currently unknown. Analyzing these shortcomings and working on them remains a priority task for the coaching staff.
“In the early minutes of the game, our play looked somewhat disorganized, but later the team found its rhythm and showed quite a quality performance,” said Bošković. He also emphasized that in the second half, his team had more ball control and played well against the opponent's strong points.
According to the coach, defensive preparation was made in advance to counter “Navbahor”'s fast and dangerous flank movements, and this paid off. Despite the difficulty of playing away in Namangan, the team fought to the end and maintained psychological resilience.
In the previous round, the team lost to “Nasaf”, while this time they had to settle for a draw. Bošković commented: “Compared to the first round, we’ve made some progress. We have talented players, but the main problem is not being able to convert chances into goals. We’ll continue to work on this.”
Regarding the claim that the team relies heavily on Lyupcho Doriev, the coach did not deny his importance: “Of course, a player of Doriev’s quality is an asset for any team. He could be one of the best players of the season. But aside from him, there are 10 other players on the field, each with their own role,” he said.
When asked about the newly joined players, Bošković said they have not yet fully adapted to the team, but he’s confident they will soon show their abilities: “My standards are always high, but I expect good performances from them in the next 3–4 matches. They are working seriously in training.”
Ivan Bošković concluded by stating that the team will do everything possible to collect maximum points in the remaining 13 rounds. According to him, the real result will be seen at the end of the championship and will reflect the team’s efforts.
