As part of Matchday 17 of the Super League, a dramatic clash took place between “Kokand-1912” and “Neftchi” (a 1:2 victory for the guests), full of emotion for football fans. After the match, “Neftchi” head coach Vitaliy Levchenko traditionally answered journalists’ questions, reports сhampionat.asia.
First, he commented on the overall aspects of the game, saying:
– A beautiful and meaningful game was demonstrated on the field. Both sides tried to show their potential. Unfortunately, the technical condition of the pitch was far from perfect, which disrupted many moments in the game. As a result, instead of passing and combination football, we saw a match full of individual duels. Nevertheless, big thanks to the guys for the win. They gave it their all on the pitch. Now we turn our attention to the next opponent.
On Kojo and Nimeli’s form...
– These two players were not with us when we began preparation for the second part of the season. They joined training only after the main camp. Naturally, this caused a delay in adapting to team play. Therefore, I think they still need some time. For example, Kojo played very well today. In one episode, he went one-on-one and had the chance to score himself, but preferred to pass to a teammate. Though he had a very good opportunity to score. With time, they will fully adapt to the team.
About support for “Kokand-1912”...
– Thank you for the question. We supported “Kokand-1912” by giving them Shohruh Gadoev. I believe that’s a form of help. Today, that same player scored a goal against us. If we hadn’t scored in added time, the match could’ve ended in a draw. We are two clubs from the same region and should support each other. If one of our players wants to play for “Kokand-1912” in the future, we’re open to discussing it.
Has “Neftchi” returned to the championship race?
– We go into every match aiming for victory. This win was another step forward. Ahead of us is a very important match against “Nasaf”. There are only four days left. We, the coaches, will do everything possible to prepare the team in this short time.
The team seems to have low morale...
– That’s understandable too. August is very tight for us. We’ll play six matches in 30 days. We played well against “Bunyodkor” but lost. Today, we won a very tough game. That’s football — today you win, tomorrow you get tested again.
How is Abror Ismoilov doing?
– I don’t think his condition is serious. He missed the match due to tooth pain. He might be ready for the next game. Our medical staff is monitoring him, everything will become clear in due time.
Discussion and analysis: From Levchenko’s words, it is evident that “Neftchi”’s championship ambition, their attitude towards regional cooperation, and trust in players were once again visible. Preparation for each game and constant effort remain the main weapon of today’s “Neftchi”.
