In Madrid’s famous club “Real,” unexpected disagreements have arisen in recent weeks among players regarding the squad numbers. This dispute was primarily related to the fate of the number 10, which had been worn for many years by Croatian legend Luka Modrić, who left the team. According to the club’s management decision, this historic number was handed over to the team’s new star — Kylian Mbappé.
It should be recalled that in the previous season, the French striker played under number 9. This number was planned for the new season to be given to the club academy graduate, young talented player Gonzalo García Torres, who was promoted to the first team. However, this decision was not well received by the young Brazilian legionnaire Endrick, which caused his open dissatisfaction.
As a result, the small “number dispute” inside the club came to an end. According to the final agreement, Mbappé will officially continue to play under number 10 in the new season. The 19-year-old Endrick, after it became known that he would not leave for another team during the summer transfer window, was given the number 9.
At the same time, the 21-year-old Gonzalo García Torres, who signed a contract with the “royal club” until the summer of 2030, will be registered under number 16, which was vacated by Endrick. This decision is considered to ensure not only internal competition but also stability in the team’s atmosphere.
For the fans, this news is interesting in two ways: on the one hand, giving Mbappé the number 10 further strengthens his status as the club’s main star; on the other hand, the fact that young talents Endrick and García Torres receive their numbers suggests that they will get more playing time in the new season.
