After the 20th round Super League match OKMK – “Khorezm” (3:1), Almalyk head coach Mirjalol Qosimov shared his thoughts at the press conference. According to him, securing the three points was the main outcome of the team’s efforts.
“The main goal was three points”
— For us, the most important thing was to win and get three points. Every game is becoming more difficult. In the first round, we also struggled, so we prepared seriously for this match as well. Today “Khorezm” played very well. In particular, their forwards Bobozhonov and Samiev caused serious problems for our defenders, and one of their moments turned into a goal. The game was interesting but very tough. I want to take this opportunity to thank our fans for their constant support, — said Qosimov.
“There were mistakes, the opponent also played well”
— In the first half we started attacks well from the wings, but the ball did not reach the center. Inaccurate passes also played a role. At the same time, “Khorezm” acted solidly with three central defenders. Their players with numbers 7 and 94 played well on the wings and quickly transitioned into attack. In the 45th minute, Nodir Abdurazzoqov, after a great combination, should have scored but failed.
Football’s rule is simple: if you don’t take your chance, the opponent punishes you. In Samarkand, we also didn’t deserve to lose, when Khurshid Giyosov and Ajak Riak had chances.
“The long break will be a test for us”
— Now a long break is coming. For coaches, this is somewhat of a headache. It is not easy to keep players in tone. First of all, I wish good luck to our players called up to the national team and U-23. I hope they return in good shape. For us this is nothing new — once the championship starts, FIFA days come and the team may lose rhythm. Our next game is on September 12. During this period, we will hold friendly matches. This doesn’t mean we’ll just rest — I’ll give the guys three days off, then we’ll start preparing seriously for the upcoming matches, — stressed the coach.
According to Qosimov, OKMK will continue to fight for high positions without deviating from its goals.
