After the La Liga Matchday 2 fixture between Atlético and Elche (1:1), Atlético Madrid’s head coach Diego Simeone shared his thoughts at the press conference. According to him, the team played with the desire to win but could not fully capitalize on their chances.
“Fans’ disappointment is natural”
— It is natural that our fans are upset. We feel the same way. Today we did everything possible to get the victory, but the outcome was not what we expected. We tried to make the most of our players’ qualities, — said Simeone.
“Calmness and hard work will bring results”
— To fix this situation, we need calmness, patience, and hard work. Only then will the results come. We will not abandon our principles and will stay true to them. In fact, in the last two matches we did not deserve to lose points either, — the coach added.
For reference, Atlético lost their first match of the season against Espanyol (1:2). Now, the team has once again failed to achieve the expected result.
Experts believe Atlético can soon find their rhythm and start a winning streak. Simeone also emphasized that the trust and support of the fans remain the key factor for the team.
