Question: You played together with the former captain of the Uzbekistan national team, Odil Akhmedov, at “Anzhi”. What common memories remain from those times?
Roberto Carlos: — Thank you very much for your question that brought back warm memories. When Odil Akhmedov came to our team, I was convinced of his potential from the very beginning. With his ability to see the field, read the game, organize play, and his accurate passes, he proved that he is a player of a high level. It was an honor for me to play together with Odil. We became good friends, comrades with Odil. Yesterday we sat together and watched a futsal match. I am happy to have met him again.
I came to Uzbekistan due to the invitation to the Super Cup. I saw with my own eyes that the football of your country is growing very fast, rapidly. I congratulate all of you on the World Cup berth. I express my gratitude to the leadership of the ЎFF for inviting us to Tashkent and to the wonderful event.
Question: — How high results can “Real” achieve under the leadership of Xabi Alonso?
Roberto Carlos: — I am the honorary ambassador of “Real”. I cannot give much information. “Real” is a big club. It always aims at high goals and moves toward great objectives. Every specialist comes to this team fully prepared in all respects. Xabi Alonso also has great motivation. We support him. We believe in him.
