President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald Trump. During the conversation, issues of further development of strategic partnership relations between the two countries, expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and taking steps in practical directions were discussed in detail.
During the negotiations, the topic of football was also mentioned as a particularly noteworthy aspect. It is noted that an exchange of views also took place in connection with the fact that the Uzbekistan national team qualified for the World Cup for the first time.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction that our team will participate in the World Cup next year in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Donald Trump, in turn, sincerely wished the Uzbekistan national team good luck and especially noted that the national team has opened a new historical page.
The telephone conversation took place as an expression of sincere relations and open opinions between the leaders of the two countries. The dialogue included not only political and economic issues, but also topics of cultural cooperation between peoples and rapprochement through sports.
Thus, the Presidents shared with joy not only the strengthening of interstate relations, but also a new historical step of the Uzbekistan national team on the world football stage.
