FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrived in Uzbekistan during the night of September 8, Kursiv Media reported. The visit was confirmed by the National Football Association.
Infantino’s delegation was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by First Deputy Chairman of the NOC Otabek Umarov and other officials.
During his visit, Infantino will discuss the development of football in the country and attend the final match of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025.
Two years ago, Infantino met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent and presented him with a personalized jersey. In 2024, he also attended the futsal world championship final.
Infantino has headed FIFA since the winter of 2016. Prior to that, he served as UEFA Secretary General for seven years.
