On the eve of the final of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, Iranian national team midfielder Omid Norafkan shared his thoughts. He emphasized that enthusiasm and strong will will be the key factors in the decisive match against Uzbekistan.
"It will not be easy to defeat Uzbekistan, which qualified for the World Cup, at home. A year ago, we faced this team in the final and won with a score of 1:0. Undoubtedly, the opponent is very strong, but we have the power to defeat them again. To become CAFA champions, we must show twice as much strength as we have," said Norafkan.
Continuing his thoughts, the 28-year-old footballer specifically highlighted the legionnaires playing in the Uzbekistan Championship:
"The Uzbek players playing in the Iranian championship are considered very good and effective players, and they create difficulties for us. However, they also understand well what team they will play against with us. If we can mobilize all our strength and willpower, I am confident that we can defeat the opponent by two or three goals."
As a reminder, the final match between Uzbekistan and Iran kicks off today at 7:30 PM at the Olympic Stadium. This match will serve both teams not only as a trophy, but also as an opportunity to demonstrate their superiority in the region.
