Former Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan, recalling his years with Pep Guardiola, spoke warmly about his role in both his personal and professional life.
The German footballer expressed his thoughts as follows:
- This period was truly wonderful. To be honest, our relationship was much higher than just a simple connection between a coach and an apprentice. Pep gave me everything I wanted in football. Under his guidance, I gained a lot of knowledge and experience.
Gündoğan stated that he would not have achieved so much without Guardiola's influence:
- He had a huge impact on my entire career. If I hadn't worked with Pep, I wouldn't have achieved the current results. He's the best coach, and any player who has played for Manchester City could say that. I am infinitely grateful to him for all his help," said the experienced footballer.
As a reminder, Ilkay Gündoğan is currently playing for the renowned Turkish club Galatasaray and continues to demonstrate his experience in a new away game.
