Russian MMA fighter Arman Sarukyan shared his thoughts on UFC lightweight champion Iliya Topuriya. He emphasized that Topuria will find it difficult to maintain championship status in the organization for a long time.
"For me, the main task is to fight whoever the UFC makes an opponent. On the way to the belt, I am ready to clash with anyone. But, in my opinion, Ilia Topuria will not last long. He wants big money and big show fights. For example, he's thinking about switching to boxing and fighting Terence Crawford. Therefore, he might defend his belt once and then give it up," Sarukyan said in an interview with Match TV.
At the same time, Sarukyan noted that there is not a high probability of a fight with Islam Makhachev in the near future. According to him, Topuria's championship position is financially and show-wise interesting for the UFC, but he may soon change his goal.
Various opinions about Topuria's future are also being expressed among the MMA public. While some emphasize his technical strength, others suggest that pursuing financial interests could distance him from the UFC.
