In the 6th round of the English Premier League, Brentford hosted Manchester United at home and won 3:1 as a result. This outcome gave a big morale boost to the hosts, while it was another test for the visitors.
In the first 20 minutes of the match, Igor Thiago scored twice: in the 8th and 20th minutes. Manchester United reduced the deficit in the 26th minute through Benjamin Sesko, but it was not enough.
In the second half, United possessed the ball and pressed hard in attack, but defensive problems crushed them. In the 90+5th minute, Mathias Jensen's goal sealed Brentford's advantage.
Although United were superior in statistics, they could not change the result: 57% ball possession, 455 passes, 14 shots. Brentford scored three goals with eight shots on target.
