Abduqodir Husanov did not give Trossar a chance, Arsenal wants to let him go

The intense clash between Arsenal and Manchester City, part of the fifth round of the English Premier League, remained memorable for fans not only because of the goals but also due to individual duels. Especially, the competition between the hosts' striker Leandro Trossar and the Uzbek young defender Abduqodir Husanov, who played on the opposite wing, became one of the most discussed moments of the match.

In one situation, Trossar, who launched a fast attack, tried to distance himself from his opponent, but Husanov, running at high speed, caught up with him and skillfully took the ball away. This episode has recently sparked wide discussions not only on social media but also in the European press.

In this context, the Arsenal club management plans to renew their attacking line. According to several sources, the Gunners are trying to acquire Juventus’s 20-year-old star attacker Kenan Yildiz next summer. For this transfer, the Londoners are ready to offer Trossar to the Turin club and pay an additional 60 million euros.

According to information, the Arsenal officials have already established initial contacts with Juventus management and negotiations regarding the agreement have started. Kenan Yildiz’s current contract is valid until summer 2029. At the same time, 30-year-old Trossar's deal with the London club is set for another two seasons.

Belgium national team member Trossar was developed at the Genk academy. He represented clubs Lommel United, Westerlo, and Leuven in his home country. He came to England in 2019, joining Brighton for 15.55 million euros. Later, in summer 2023, Arsenal purchased him for 24 million euros. However, because he could not make efficient use of the opportunities given to him, the club is ready to let him go.

The defender who prevented Trossar from showing himself in that very match, Abduqodir Husanov, came to England at the beginning of 2025. The defender has played 15 matches in all tournaments for Manchester City so far, scoring one goal. Husanov was initially trained at the Bunyodkor academy as a footballer, then gained experience in Belarus’s Energetik-BGU and France’s Lens clubs.

Thus, the rivalry of one evening became a source of new news not only on the field but also in the transfer market. Arsenal intends to renew its squad through a major transfer, while Husanov is gaining more attention and consolidating his name as a new star on the Premier League stage.
