Famous Brazilian footballer Dani Alves was acquitted by the Catalonia Supreme Court after being held in prison for a long period. The rape charges against him were rejected.
According to information, Alves was in prison for 839 days. During the trial, the victim's testimony was deemed unreliable. Based on court documents, it was determined that the events she described did not match reality when checked against video recordings.
Therefore, the court recognized his innocence and Alves was released. However, the case may not be over. The prosecution did not accept this decision and officially filed an appeal. This increases the likelihood of the case being reviewed again by the Supreme Court of Spain.
