Reliable sources are reporting that the Jeddah club's management has begun negotiations with Xavi. However, their shortlist also includes several other coach candidates, indicating that Al Ittihad is taking this matter seriously.
It's worth noting that Al-Ittihad, one of the top teams in the Saudi Arabian league, recently parted ways with French specialist Laurent Blanc after a 0-2 defeat against An Nasr. This decision signaled the beginning of a new stage in the club.
The 45-year-old Xavi last worked at Barcelona and left the Catalan club in the summer of 2024. After that, he twice declined an offer from the German club "Bayer."
For this very reason, his trip to Saudi Arabia could be a big sensation in football not only for the club, but for the entire region.
