Following the Barcelona vs. Real Sociedad (2:1) match in the 7th round of the Spanish Championship, Catalan head coach Hans-Dieter Flick shared his thoughts with journalists.
The experienced specialist first of all spoke about the young talent Lamin Yamal, who returned to the squad after an injury, and noted that his return to the team was an important event:
"We are very happy that Lamin Yamal has returned to the field. This is important not only for me, but for the whole team. Because we all know well about his talent. "He played brilliantly on the pitch today and contributed to the victory," said Flick.
According to the coach, Barcelona's players performed exceptionally well in this match overall. He noted that Real Sociedad's performance should also be highly appreciated, but nevertheless, Barça deserved the victory more:
- To tell the truth, the opponent played very strongly, I liked their style. However, we had many chances, and in the end, we snatched victory. "This was an important emotional step for our team," the specialist added.
Flick also addressed the need for rotations within the team. He said that the health and condition of the players should be constantly monitored throughout the season:
- The initial composition is not always the same. The season is long, and it's crucial to control the players and provide them with rest. That's why we often see rotations. This will only benefit the team," said the Barcelona manager.
An even harder test awaits the Catalans now. Flick stated that the team will begin training tomorrow for a crucial Champions League match against PSG.
The Catalan club climbed to the top of the league table with their victory over Real Sociedad, further instilling confidence among the fans.
