Former Uzbekistan footballer Ja'far Irismetov has commented on the appointment of Fabio Cannavaro as head coach of the Uzbekistan national team. He opposed Cannavaro's candidacy and stressed that selecting a coach for the team would require great care.
According to Irismetov, Cannavaro is not the best choice for the Uzbekistan national team. According to him, Cannavaro is far from playing football in his coaching career and the likelihood of making a worthy contribution to the team is low. He simply said that the name Cannavaro was chosen because of his success in football.
"To go to the World Cup and participate worthily, it is necessary to attract a high-level coach like Jürgen Klopp. I can't imagine how Fabio Cannavaro will influence our national team. In any case, it is necessary to choose a coach based on his ability to provide concrete assistance," Ja'far Irismetov said.
Irismetov also expressed his belief that Uzbekistan actually needs a specialist with excellent coaching experience. If it is decided to hire a foreign specialist, then their level and experience should be high, he noted.
The chosen coach must provide great assistance to the team and play an important role in training young players, as well as in winning international competitions. According to Irismetov, it is not the name of Cannavaro that is important, but the choice of a coach capable of providing the right assistance.
