Barcelona head coach Hans-Dieter Flick made a reassuring statement after the unfortunate result against Sevilla in the 8th round of La Liga. According to him, the most important task is to realistically accept defeat, draw conclusions, and recover quickly.
Flick noted that in the first half, the team made many ambiguous decisions, and the opponent sought an advantage through aggressive pressure and speed. In the second half, however, the "blaugrana" increased the tempo of the game, trying to seize the initiative, creating several dangerous attacks, but emphasizing that they were better at utilizing the opponent's chances.
The coach stated that the October national team break will allow Barcelona to recover mentally and physically, stating that the players will work hard to bring their mood and form to the highest level as soon as they return from the national teams. "We play for the fans. The right path now is to accept defeat, maintain unity, and look forward," Flick said.
He added that he plans to analyze pressing, passing from the first pass, errors in the transition phases, and discipline between halves separately with his players, thereby increasing the team's stability. "We are a good team. After the break, we will compete for each trophy," the specialist concluded.
For the record, the Catalan club currently sits in 2nd place in the league table with 19 points after 8 rounds.
