FIFA president Gianni Infantino commented on Portugal national team forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s recent achievements, reports Euro-football.ru.
On Tuesday, the 40-year-old player scored twice in a match against Hungary, and the game ended in a 2:2 draw. Now Ronaldo has become the all-time top scorer in World Cup qualifiers with 41 goals.
Infantino wrote on social media: “Bravo, Cristiano! 41 goals! Congratulations on becoming the top scorer in World Cup qualifiers. This is yet another historic result from a great footballer,” he wrote.
In total, Ronaldo has scored 143 goals in 225 games for the Portugal national team. He played his first national team match in August 2003. These results clearly reflect the player’s annual hard work and skill.
