In an exciting match of Round 26, Bukhara claimed a confident victory over Sogdiana on home ground. The game was held at the Bukhara Football Academy stadium and turned into an unexpected yet enjoyable evening for the local fans.
The main hero of the encounter, which ended in a 2:0 win over the visitors, was defender Izzatillo Polatov, who scored twice for his team. In both of his goals, Azizbek Amonov played the role of assistant with precise passes. This partnership became a great strength in Bukhara’s attack line.
In the 8th minute of the first half, Polatov opened the score with a header after Amonov’s corner kick. Six minutes later, the same duo combined again — Amonov’s pass into the penalty area was converted into a goal by a lively move from Polatov. Thus, by the 14th minute, the score was 2:0 on the scoreboard.
During the remaining time, Sogdiana launched several attacks, but thanks to the confident play of Bukhara’s goalkeeper Otabek Boymurodov and the defensive line, the score did not change. Although the team from Jizzakh led by Milan Mitrovich managed to create a few chances, they lacked precise finishing.
With this victory, Bukhara under the management of Aleksandr Khomyakov raised their points tally to 24 and climbed to 14th place in the table. This result also gave the team a significant psychological boost. Sogdiana, on the other hand, remained in 8th position with 31 points and will need to work harder to strengthen their place in the next rounds.
At the end of the match both teams made several substitutions. Khomyakov’s team brought on Ibrohim Numanov, Bilol Tupliyev, and Anvar Jo’rayev from the bench. For the Jizzakh side, Otabek Akhadov, Samandar Mavlonqulov, and Dilshod Misraliev took to the field.
During the match, yellow cards were shown to Izzatillo Polatov and Stanislav Andreev; however, the game was played in an orderly and competitive spirit. Fans are rating this as one of Bukhara’s most effective games of the season.
