The Nepal Football Association has expressed its desire to hold two friendly matches with the Russian national team. This was reported by Sport24.
According to the association's general secretary Kiran Ray, these matches are planned to be held in the capital of one of the Asian countries – Kathmandu, Nepal. Both the main and youth national teams will participate.
"We are ready to play in June next year or during the break after the World Cup. We are waiting for the official invitation letter from the Russian side and are glad to play against such a strong team," Ray said.
Currently, Nepal is ranked 180th in FIFA rankings. The team has been unable to achieve significant results in the Asian Cup and World Cup qualifying matches, losing most of its games.
